Unlocking an Iphone

Not really sure where I should put this but I've move to vietnam obviously, and I have a vietnamese sim that works on an I phone but my phone just says "invalid sim" when its here. For some reason I cant restore the jailbroken I phone through I tunes, so I'm going to have to do it manually.... I'd rather not pay for a new phone even if it is shit, so any ideas what to do?

doing that now...so that will unlock it or just get it to the point I can unlock it? Some guy tried to jailbreak/ unlock it butI think he thought it was a 3gs/4 because when I read up a lot of the stuff on there was for IOS 5 which I cant get on this phone. If this doesnt work I'm just gonna have to buy a shitty cheap phone.

Seemed to reset fast but now its just stuck on that apple logo with not USB thing probably need to leave it over night by the sounds of it. Its a ballache though because it was working for about 14 hours and I gave out my number to some people and now I cant contact them

It didnt work, think its bricked which is a ballache, just stuck on the apple screen now. I've gone through lots of th==ways of sorting it and i cant restore it, even if I try and restore it from the server not back up it doesnt seem to work. Ah well cheap vietnamese phone I think.

After about 50 tries I finally managed to get the restore from server to work, just restoring now
